1 Product Introduction

Valerian extract powder is extracted from the root of Valerian,which is native to parts of Asia and Europe, and is cultivated in North America.Valerenic acids are mainly derived from a kind of Valerian Extract. Its stems and leaves are used as food by the larvae of some lepidopteran species. The rhizomes and roots of valerian are used for medicinal purposes, which can dispel wind ,relieve spasm,treat bruises and injuries.

It also can be used as a dietary supplement. Valerian is macerated, ground and dehydrated into convenient packages, such as capsules.The root of the plant has long been used as a herbal remedy to treat insomnia.The use of valerian root dates back to the Greek and Roman Empires and was noted by Hippocrates to treat headaches, nervousness, trembling, and heart palpitations.

Valerian extract powder has the functions of anti-depression, sedation, sleep and anti-convulsion, as well as antibacterial, antiviral, anti-tumor and liver protection. 4 Products Details

Valerian extract is a hydroalcoholic mixture prepared from crushed valerian root. The US Pharmacopoeia stipulates that the valerian extract contains not less than 0.3% valerenic acid, and total valerenic acid (hydroxyvalerenic acid, ethyl valerene Chemicalbook acid and valerenic acid) not less than 0.6% , on a dry basis. The ratio from valerian starting material to extract is 4:1 to 7:1.
