1 Product feature and application

k2 k1 vitamin is the collective name for a group of fat-soluble compounds called menaquinones. Menaquinones are mainly derived from bacteria and are found in various animal and fermented foods. Good animal sources include high-fat dairy products from grass-fed cows, egg yolks, liver or organ meat. Lean meat and low-fat animal products contain lower levels of k2 k1 vitamin. And the best source of vitamin K2 for vegans and vegans is natto (a fermented soy product). Almost all menaquinones, especially long-chain menaquinones, are produced by bacteria in the human gut.

2 The role and function of vitamin K2

k2 k1 vitamin plays an important role in bone metabolism. It is a nutrient necessary for the carboxylation of osteocalcin, an important protein secreted by osteoblasts, osteoblasts in the body. When vitamin K2 is activated, osteocalcin can absorb calcium into the bone, which is then incorporated into the bone matrix with it by osteoblasts. In addition, when combined with vitamin D3, k2 k1 vitamin helps inhibit osteoclasts (cells responsible for bone resorption).

The same osteocalcin also triggers the activation of matrix GLA protein (MGP), which helps eliminate excess calcium that builds up in soft tissues such as arteries and veins. This is all the more important considering that about 20% of atherosclerotic plaques are composed of calcium between the early and late stages of heart disease development.

Clinically, coagulation problems caused by vitamin K1 deficiency are almost non-existent in healthy people who eat a balanced diet. However, people who prefer a Western diet may not get enough vitamin K2 from their diets. Furthermore, serum vitamin K2 levels are not a reliable indicator. Undercarboxylated osteocalcin, an indirect marker of vitamin K2 levels, will also be used more widely as a measure in the future. Vitamin K2 deficiency can lead to decreased bone mineralization and the development of osteoporosis, more likely to affect heart disease. Evidence suggests that vitamin K2 deficiency may also be caused by the use of broad-spectrum combination antibiotics.
