Inflorescences terminal on stems and branches, racemose, 7-15 cm long, often clustered again at the stem apex into panicles; pedicels 3 mm long, puberulent with the inflorescence axis; bracts proximal ones resembling leaves, distal ones much smaller, ovoid-lanceolate to lanceolate, 4-11 mm long, subglabrous. Calyx 4 mm long when flowering, peltate 1.5 mm high, densely puberulent outside, calyx margin sparsely pilose, glabrous inside, calyx 5 mm long when fruiting, with peltate 4 mm high. Corolla purple, purplish red to blue, 2.3-3 cm long, outside densely glandular pubescent, inside pubescent at saccate expansion; crown tube distinctly geniculate near base, 1.5 mm in diameter at middle, to 6 mm wide at throat; limb 2-lipped, upper lip galeate, apex emarginate, middle lobe of lower lip triangular-ovoid, 7.5 mm wide, both lobes connivent toward upper lip. Stamens 4, slightly exposed, anterior pair longer, with half anthers, staminodes inconspicuous, posterior pair shorter, with full anthers, locules white bearded, dorsally with vesicular hairs; filaments flattened, anterior pair below middle on inner side posterior pair on both sides sparsely minute pilose. Style slender, apex acute, dehiscent. Disk annular, 0.75 mm high, slightly accrescent anteriorly, extending posteriorly into a very short cotyledon. Ovary brown, glabrous.
