Black cohosh extract, also known as rattlesnake root, black snake root grass, is the rhizome extract of Cimicifuga Romose L. It is a brown-black powder, so it is Black cohosh extract powder. Black cohosh is a perennial wildflower native to the Northeastern America. More than two centuries ago, Native Americans discovered that black cohosh root helped relieve menstrual cramps and menopausal symptoms including red hot flashes, restlessness, mood swings and sleep disturbances. Black cohosh root is still used for these purposes today.
