1.Product feature and application

Devil's claw extract belongs to the linaceae family. They are perennial herbs with multiple annual stolons growing from fleshy taproots and tubers on lateral roots. At the beginning of the rainy season creeping branches grow from tubercular taproots; In the dry season, secondary root tubers that store water grow horizontally on the taproots. The Devil’s Claw bears large hook-like fruits with rows of curved arms, each with multiple backward-bending barbs, and fruits up to 15cm in diameter. Its common name is devil's claw extract .

Africans have used hookberry tubers for centuries as a remedy for indigestion, fever, inflammation, pain relief, postpartum pain relief in women, and for sprains, ulcers and burns. In the mid-19th century, Mehnert, a German soldier, introduced carpet-fruit herb tea to Europe.Until now, the first scientist to study the activity of hookberry herbs was Zorn of the University of Jena in Germany more than 40 years ago, and subsequent research has been based on his work. In 1989, the German CommissionE officially recognized its efficacy and approved it as a legal medicine for the treatment of rheumatism such as osteoarthritis and tendinitis and for indigestion.

Devil's claw extract is only effective on chronic, recurrent inflammation, not acute inflammation, which is consistent with its later recommendation for clinical treatment of chronic rheumatic inflammation.It has been used in Africa for thousands of years as a traditional remedy for arthritis and fever. In trials, it has been shown to help relieve back pain and increase flexibility due to its anti-inflammatory and muscle-relaxing properties.Research in Germany suggests it can help treat arthritis in the knees and hips，it has also been found to help treat various skin problems and diseases of the gallbladder, pancreas, stomach and kidneys.
